SWEETEST RIDE
SWEETEST RIDE
Sweetest Ride (1998) started from a joke I heard. It's about a gambler who couldn't get a ride to the airport after losing everything, but after a win a few weeks later, gets sweet revenge with the very same cabbie. I wanted to make a film for Tropfest which had 'Kiss' as their symbol in 1998.
I wrote, produced and directed this 5-minute short and shot it with non-actor friends and a small team on a very hot day in Briz Vegas in 1997. It was the first time I shot a film on a 3-chip Digital Sony Cam, and I wanted to make it feel like a Western. Although not selected for Tropfest, It screened at video festivals in Australia and Germany.
